I’m Brian Palermo—a professional actor who weirdly (but happily!) fell in love with a side hustle as a communications trainer. Since 2010, I’ve been merging my decades of experience in the entertainment industry—including my time as a veteran performer at The Groundlings —with the social science of human behavior to help professionals connect more effectively with their fellow humans.

My approach isn't about being "funny" on stage; it’s about using improvisational tools to replace polite, neutral habits with real clarity, empathy, and storytelling. I’ve been privileged to lead NSF-funded workshops at Ocean Sciences meetings for over a decade and have worked with "brainy" clients like NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, the Keck School of Medicine, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. On the corporate and government side, I’ve shared these same techniques with teams at Google, YouTube, and the National Park Service.

I’ve guest lectured at universities from USC and UCLA to LSU and the University of Kansas, teaching everyone from hydrologists to engineers how to turn complex data into stories that actually stick.
